Abu Hafs Siraj al-Din al-Ghaznawi

Qadi al-Qada Siraj al-Din al-Ghaznawi al-Hindi (704 AH - 773 AH/1304 AD - 1372 AD) was a Hanafi scholar, a theologian, and Kalam scholar of the Maturidi school.[1][2][3][4]
He was born in the year 704 AH or 705 AH, and it was said: 714 AH. Then he came to Cairo before the year 740 AH, and went down in Hanafi lessons, was known among its jurisprudents, and his eminence became famous, so the judge of the judges, Jamal al-Din Abdullah bin Ali al-Turkmani, ordered him to rule on him in Cairo for several years. What was between him and Hermas until his travels to Mecca agreed with the pilgrims of Rajab in the year sixty, so Al-Sarraj Al-Hindi contacted Al-Malik Al-Nasir Faraj at the hands of Sheikh Shams Al-Din Muhammad Ibn Al-Naqqash, and singled him out. Then he was crowned on Thursday the thirteenth of Rabi’ al-Thani in the year sixty-five, and the military judge settled as a companion of the Shafi’i military judge, and he was the first to appoint a ruler from the Hanafi school. Then he asked and took it off on a Thursday, the eleventh of Sha’ban in the year sixty-nine, and he settled in the district of Hanafi judges after the death of Jamal al-Din al-Turkmani, with his fatwas from the House of Justice.[4]

- Ibn al-Ghazi said about him in Diwan al-Islam: “The Indian Siraj: Omar bin Ishaq bin Ahmed, the imam, the ink, the jurist, the scholar, the judge of judges, Siraj al-Din al-Ghaznawi, and then al-Qahiri. He died in the year 773.[3]
- Muhammad Siddiq Hassan Khan Al-Qanouji said about him in Abjad Al-Ulum: “The Hanafi judge in Cairo. In his country, he taught understanding on: Al-Wajeeh Al-Razi, Al-Sarraj Al-Thaqafi, Al-Zain Al-Badwani, and other scholars of India; He made the pilgrimage, and his virtues became apparent, he had prestige in every country, he was vast in knowledge, a lot of reverence, and he was fanatical about the monotheistic Sufism, and Ezr Ibn Abi Hijla, for his words about Ibn al-Farid. He died on the night that Al-Baha Al-Subki died, which is: the seventh of Rajab, the year 773; And he was writing in his handwriting: My birth in the year 704.[3]

- Taqi al-Din al-Maqrizi translated for him a full translation in his book (Durar al-Aqd al-Faridah fi Tarajim al-Ayyin al-Mufida) and said what he summarized: “...He authorized me and wrote his handwriting for me by narrating all of his audiobooks and writings that he named, and that was in Jumada of the year seventy-one and seventy-seven Hundred on call. He was a jurist who was numbered among the Hanafi imams, proficient in several sciences, and he dealt with fatwas and teaching for several years... and in his tongue he had a jaguar that made the eye 'Ya'. He was well-mannered, humble, jovial in face, diligent in meeting the needs of those he visited, very beneficial to them, and exaggerated in reward for service.[4]

He died on the night of Thursday, the seventh of Rajab in the year 773 AH, in Cairo, and it was said:
