Acceptance Insurance Agency of Tennessee, Inc. (commonly referred to as Acceptance Insurance, Acceptance, or First Acceptance Insurance Corp.) is a licensed insurance agency and a subsidiary of First Acceptance Corporation.[1] The company specializes in providing standard auto insurance to individuals who may have faced challenges in their driving or credit history, making it more difficult for them to obtain insurance coverage.[2] In addition to auto insurance, Acceptance also offers a range of insurance and ancillary products, including homeowners, rental, and commercial insurance.

Acceptance Insurance was established in 1969 in Nashville, Tennessee.[3] Over the years, the company has grown into an omnichannel business with a presence in various forms, including brick-and-mortar stores in 13 states, a Customer Service and Sales Call Center, and online sales and customer service platforms. Presently, Acceptance employs over 1,300 team members[4] and generated a revenue of $285.25 million in 2021.[5]

Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, Acceptance operates its insurance business in 13 states,[6] including Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Additionally, Acceptance exclusively sells its products online in Missouri[7] and Virginia.[8]

Their insurance products encompass personal insurance such as auto, renters, home, flood, motorcycle, recreational vehicles, boat, trailer, Mexico travel insurance, bond, and pet insurance.[9] Moreover, Acceptance provides commercial insurance options, including commercial auto, commercial general liability, worker's compensation, professional liability/errors and omissions, umbrella, garage liability, and liquor liability. The company also offers ancillary membership plans like roadside assistance, telemedicine services, travel club (hospital indemnification protection plan), ID theft protection plan, and RX discount plan.[citation needed]
