Acharya Pramod Krishnam (born 4 January 1965) is an Indian spiritual leader and former politician. He is the founder and head (Peethadheeshwar) of Shri Kalki Dham, a religious institution in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh.[1] He was formerly affiliated with the Indian National Congress and contested parliamentary elections from Uttar Pradesh.[2] [3][4][5][6]
Early life and education
Acharya Pramod Krishnam was born in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, India. He completed a Master of Arts in Political Science from Chaudhary Charan Singh University through R.S.S. College, Pilkhua, in 2002.[7] n
Political career
Krishnam joined the Indian National Congress and served on the party's Uttar Pradesh advisory council. He contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from the Sambhal constituency and the 2019 general elections from Lucknow, but was unsuccessful in both contests.[8][9]
Expulsion from Indian National Congress
In February 2024, the Indian National Congress expelled Krishnam for six years, citing multiple instances of indiscipline and statements against the party.[10] The expulsion followed public statements made by Krishnam praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and criticism of Congress leadership for not attending the event. He also met Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ahead of the foundation-laying of Shri Kalki Dham.[11] [12][13][14][15]
Shri Kalki Dham
Krishnam is the founder of Shri Kalki Dham, a religious center in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, focused on the worship of Lord Kalki, regarded in Hindu tradition as the tenth incarnation of Vishnu. The institution hosts religious and cultural programs.[16][17]
