Dr Sooranadu Rajasekharan is an India politician from the state of Kerala.
As of the late 1990s, he was the president of the Kollam District Congress Committee.[1] He was part of the K. Karunakaran faction inside the Congress Party.[1] He was member of the municipal corporation.[2]
The Congress Party and the United Democratic Front fielded Rajasekharan as their candidate for the Kollam Lok Sabha seat in the 2004 Indian general election.[2] However, a group in the Karunakaran camp in the Congress Party charged that Rajasekharan had bought the nomination.[3] He finished in second place, with 244,208 votes (34.6%).[4]
Rajasekharan was fielded as the UDF candidate in the Chathannoor State Assembly seat. He finished in third place with 30,139 votes (22.7%).[5]
As of 2016 he served as the general secretary of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee.[6] In January 2020 Congress President Sonia Gandhi restructured the KPCC, naming Rajasekharan as one of twelve KPCC Vice President.[7] As KPCC VP, he was placed in-charge of Thrissur District.[8]
He authored the book Indian Rashtreeam 2019 ('Indian Politics 2019'), released in 2019.[9][10]
