Adam Butterfield

Adam Butterfield is an American actor and producer. He is best known for his role in the 2017 American television biopic The Wizard of Lies.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Butterfield was born in Berkeley, California. He grew up in Oakland. He attended Bishop O'Dowd High School where he participated in a variety of theater programs.[2] During high school he studied at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. He went on to study Acting at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City while attending New York University's Tisch School of the Arts on an acting scholarship.[3][4]

Career[edit]

Butterfield made his film acting debut opposite Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer in HBO's The Wizard of Lies (2017).[5] He appeared alongside Jim Parsons and Claire Danes in the Sundance film A Kid Like Jake (2018).[6][7] His television acting debut was opposite Paul Rudd in Living With Yourself (2019) on Netflix.[8]

Butterfield is a founding producer of the annual Global Citizen Festival in New York City.[9][10] He was listed in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2020.[11]
