Adem Atay (born 8 December 1985) is an English former footballer who is manager of the under-18 team of Ipswich Town.

Playing career

Atay began his career at the Fenerbahçe academy before joining the Ipswich Town academy in 2002. He was on the books at Ipswich until 2005, and was given a first team squad number for the 2004–05 season, although he never made a senior appearance for the club.[citation needed]

In September 2007, he was on trial with Bury and played in a reserves game against Manchester City, where he also scored. However, he failed to earn a contract with Bury.[citation needed]

In January 2008, Atay joined Sarıyer in the TFF Second League on an 18-month contract. However, he only appeared in one league match for the club before leaving for Tepecik of the TFF Third League in August 2008.[2]

Atay signed for Eastern Counties Football League Division One club Ipswich Wanderers during the 2010–11 season.[citation needed]

Coaching career

Atay returned to Ipswich in 2013 to take up a role as a coach in the academy.[3] After working his way up through the academy coaching system, he became the manager of the club's under-18 team in 2018.[4]
