Afriwork is a private online talent marketplace based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Afriwork connects jobseekers with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), primarily in East Africa.[1]
History
Afriwork was founded in March 2018.
It initially focused on Ethiopia. In October 2023, the company announced its plans to expand services to Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.[2] By 2023, Afriwork had over 300,000 registered users and had supported more than 70,000 job matches, while working with 50,000 SMEs in Ethiopia and surrounding countries.[3][1][4]
Services
Afriwork provides an online employment platform that includes job listings, candidate shortlisting tools, and messaging-based features. Through its Telegram integration, SMEs can receive candidate lists after posting a job shortly.[2][1][5]
Business model
The company operates on a subscription and transaction-based revenue model. Afriwork is a self-funded company. It reached break-even by 2023, without external investment.[3] [6][7]
