He was appointed as a teacher, then director, and then undersecretary of the Ministry of Information. His Cultural contribution

When he was a teacher in the Eastern School in 1944 he held a literary seminar at his home, then the symposium became moveable every Thursday evening in the diwaniyya of Uhud Al-Fadla until it ceased in the summer of 1946. In 1948 he established with Abdul Hamid Al-Sanea the first public literary and cultural magazine published and printed in Kuwait, which is Kazma Magazine. It stopped in 1949 for reasons beyond his control, and he was appointed headmaster of the Eastern School for a few years, during which he was known for his determination. In the fall of 1956, his services were transferred to the Department of Press and Publication, so he supervised the government printing presses and trained a number of Kuwaiti youths. In December 1957, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, Head of the Publications Department, assigned him at that time to travel to some Arab countries to contract with those who were chosen to issue a huge cultural magazine, so he contracted in Egypt with Dr. Ahmed Zaki Akef and some editors and technicians, and they presented in early 1958, and Al-Arabi magazine was published in the same year. It is noteworthy that the printing of Al-Arabi magazine necessitated the development of the printing press. There was a need for great capabilities to print the huge magazine, so the head of the publications department at the time, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, ordered Ahmed Al-Saqqaf to travel to Germany, to attend the printing exhibition in Düsseldorf in early May 1958. Al-Saqqaf left for Germany, accompanied by a printing expert, Mr. Pepos, and returned from the job with all the printing press needed. As for the excellent and wonderful move at the same time, it surprised Kuwaiti youth by appointing them as heads of departments at the printing press and appointing a new management for the printing press from these young people, and they were cheerful in their new positions. Poet Ahmad Al-Saqqaf also intended to print the valuable manuscripts in cooperation with the Manuscripts Institute of the League of Arab States. One of the most important achievements of the huge dictionary is the crown of the bride, and when the printing of this dictionary stopped, Al-Saqqaf contacted the one who replaced him in the Ministry of Guidance and News, Saadoun Al-Jasem, and they worked together on printing until the project was completed.[3]

Al-Saqqaf entered the field of political action, In 1962 he was appointed as an undersecretary for the Ministry of Guidance and News (now information), and in 1965 his services were transferred to the General Authority for the South and the Arabian Gulf with the rank of ambassador, It is an independent body linked to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, whose mission is to build schools, hospitals, clinics, and colleges in North and South Yemen (before the unification) and in the Emirates as well before they unite, and the authority was concerned with Bahrain and South Sudan as well, and his achievements in these countries were admired and appreciated by their governments and peoples. “Ahmed Al-Saqqaf... The Capture of the Embers of Creativity” authored by Dr. Ahmed Bakri Asla.[5]

It was said about him

Dr. Muhammad Hassan Abdullah says from Al-Saqqaf's writings and linguistic style: “We do not need to draw attention to the pure, pure language in which Al-Saqqaf wrote his article. This easy and abstaining method can only be achieved by a capable writer who possesses his pen and controls his language to start work again.

The style of Al-Saqqaf took from the ancients what should not be neglected and what the writer could not dispense with, linguistic correctness and accuracy in expressing the idea, straightforwardness and coherence of sentences so that it takes the reader on its flowing pages from the beginning until it is delivered to the end. The complexity and singing of strangers and superficialities of thought or imagination is committed to the unity of the topic in one article, He goes along with his idea until they highlight it from all its aspects, reveals an authentic position, addresses his reader from the level of reason and emotion together, and writes to him from the position of the adjacent speaker, not the Mostali who brags about his knowledge, nor the preacher who is a few meters away from him and whoops in your face as if you are at the foot of a mountain At its top, This method derives from its flow from the unity of the idea, then the arrangement of its parts, and from the lack of tampering with the language, as it is used within the limits of what the situation requires of the arguments of the mind and the stimulation of the conscience with a degree of balance and mixing wonderful achieved by this article, as achieved in many others. He broadcasts in his poetry the most beautiful meanings of spiritual human values and expresses his ambitious personality that aspires to a life of independence, progress and freedom. His poetry is distinguished by revolutionary fervor and hope that his nation will achieve more freedom and progress.

The issue of Al-Saqqaf: In his thought and poetry are the issues of his Arab nation, so his poems often revolve around the concerns of Arab issues such as the Palestinian revolution, the Algerian revolution, the Yemeni revolution, and the Egyptian July revolution. He wrote the classic vertical poem with renewed meanings, vibrant with an overflowing emotional sense without restriction or rigidity, and he also did not stop at the vertical form only, but he excelled in tafel poetry in many of his works.

The French philosopher Jean Gitton said about Al-Saqqaf in his book “Whispers of the Soul”: “Al-Saqqaf contributed greatly to spreading culture and knowledge not only in Kuwait but also in the Arab countries, through his position in the Department of Printing and Publishing, before the independence of Kuwait, And in the Ministry of Guidance and News after independence, when he was appointed undersecretary of the ministry. In December 1957, the opinion decided to issue a huge cultural monthly magazine that was presented to all Arab readers in all their countries. The head of the Press and Publications Department, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, assigned Ahmed Al-Saqqaf to travel to Arab countries to contract with whomever he chooses for this task, and that was done. In Egypt, Ahmed Al-Saqqaf found someone looking for them, and among them was Dr. Ahmed.
