Aikat also known as Kajol Aikat (born 25 August 1994) is an Indian novelist, writer, and blogger.[1] He is the author of the novels - Unsocial Amigos (2014), Reason to Live (2015), is a contributor to the anthology- The Unbreakable You (2015), and writer of three short-stories- The Cotton Seed (2017), Soul Break Part 01 (2017), and Soul Break Part 02 (2018),[2][3][4] standup storyteller[5] and founder of the mainstream blog #Unsocial.
Aikat was featured in Ford India's official What Drives You campaign in 2015.[6]
Aikat has been ranked at 333,598th among the most famous celebrities, at 47,362th among the most famous public figures, and 301,027th among the most trending celebrities in the world by Fameflux in 2019.[7]
He has been nominated for Padma Shri 2020, in the field of Literature and Education from the State of Jharkhand.[8][9]
Early life and career
Aikat was born in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand to a Bengali household. He did his high schooling from DAV Public School, Canary Hill. Later, he moved to Ranchi to complete his graduation from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. Currently Aikat lives in New Delhi.
Aikat's first novel Unsocial Amigos was published in 2014 during his early days of graduation.[10] A year later, Aikat's second novel Reason to Live was released in 2015. Between 2017 and 2018, Aikat wrote three short stories - The Cotton Seed, Soul Break Part 01 of 02 and Soul Break Part 02 of 02.
Aikat started blogging[11][self-published source] in 2018 with his blog #Unsocial which gained subscription from more than 30,000 followers in the first two weeks of its release.[citation needed] #Unsocial later became a crowd-sourced blog that currently works on generating popular text-media on social issues and taboo-culture of India.
