Aisha Muhammed-Oyebode is a Nigerian legal practitioner, business consultant, development specialist, international NGO expert, and human rights activist specializing in women and girls initiatives. She is a sought-after speaker and advisor on social impact and corporate social responsibility, with expertise in Africa.[1]

In 2001, she founded the Murtala Muhammed Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to socio-economic changes in honor of her late father, Gen. Murtala Muhammed.[2]

Early Life and Family[edit]

Muhammed-Oyebode was born in Lagos to the family of late General Murtala Muhammed and Ajoke Muhammed. She attended Queen's College, Lagos before proceeding to Queen Anne's School, U.K, and subsequently the University of Buckingham, U.K. She has a Master’s degree in Public and International Law from King's College London. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989 and obtained an MBA in Finance from Imperial College London.

She is currently the Group CEO of Asset Management Group Limited[3] and the CEO of The Murtala Muhammed Foundation[4] which she founded.

In 1991, Muhammed-Oyebode founded Asset Management Group, Ltd, a consultancy firm providing financial, business, and project advisory services focused on real estate development.[5]

Muhammed-Oyebode founded the Murtala Muhammed Foundation[7] in memory of her father. The foundation focuses on socio-economic change, healthcare, education, and gender-based issues.[8]

Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG)[edit]

Muhammed-Oyebode is actively involved in advocating for the release of over 200 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in 2014. She leads the Lagos chapter of the movement.[9]

Boards, Memberships and Awards[edit]

Muhammed-Oyebode sits on the board of several organizations and has received numerous awards, including the Zonta International Inspirational Award and the African Leadership Academy Award.[10]
