Akane Hashimoto
Akane Hashimoto（橋本あかね、born 11 February 1990 – ）is a Japanese actress.
Also an expert of Okinawan dance, Eisa.
Biography
Early life
Akane Hashimoto was born in Yanagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, the daughter of Japanese parents. Attended local schools in Fukuoka Prefecture.
Armageddon & Steven Tyler
She was not interested in acting or even motion pictures until she watched Armageddon on TV when she was attending junior high school. She immediately became a big fan of an American rock band, Aerosmith, especially of Steven Tyler when she heard the motion picture's theme song, I Don't Want to Miss a Thing. Although not good with English, she started to remember the lyrics and soon could sing the song even without understanding the meaning.
Her dream is to meet Steven Tyler and eventually co-star with him.
Entering the show business
After graduating from school in Fukuoka, she first became a local Japanese idol. Then, she turned to field reporter for a TV station in Nagasaki.
In her late 20s, she started to shift her main occupation to actress. Since then, she has starred in numerous plays, TV dramas and films.
2019 Cannes Film Festival
Akane Hashimoto acted in a short film named 勝利の選択 (literally means Choice for victory) which competed for The 48 Hour Film Project Osaka in 2018. The film gained several awards including Best Film 1st Place and played at a special screening at the Short Film Corner during 2019 Cannes Film Festival. The short film was directed by Ken Tanigawa, a director from Isahaya, Nagasaki Prefecture. Akane visited the festival together with other actors and staff. It was her first time to visit Europe and she was immediately fascinated by the beauties of Cannes, Nice and Monaco.

Personal life
Akane Hashimoto is single and has not been married.
Her daily routine is to watch at least two non-Japanese movies, mostly American movies. She loves matcha products and her favorite animal is sloth.
Akane's current aim is to act in English-spoken movies and therefore she is studying English hard.
