Riki Nishimura[1] was born on December 9, 2005[2] in Okayama, Japan.[3] He has an older sister named Konon and a younger sister.[4][5] Ni-ki started dancing at age three after watching a video of Michael Jackson performing "Thriller".[1][4]
In 2015, Ni-ki and his older sister participated in a dance competition hosted by FNS 27-hour TV, representing Okayama Broadcasting Station. They performed as a duo under the name Riki Jackson feat. Konon. In 2017, he performed with Shinee for the nationwide concert tour stop at Tokyo Dome as a member of Shinee Kids.[1][6] He represented Key.[3] In 2019, during his second year of middle school, Ni-ki auditioned for Belift Lab through one of their global auditions held in Tokyo, Japan with a dance cover of BTS Jimin's song "Lie".[7] He moved to South Korea that same year to become an idol trainee after passing the audition.
