Sankalp Seva Sansthan or SSS is an NGO group fighting bonded labor and working to uplift tribals, dalits and deprived sections in the Ballia of Uttar Pradesh. It was founded by Jayant Kumar Singh, who was closely involved in the relief work for two massive floods caused by the sudden release of water from dams.[1] .[2] The organisation was formed primarily to tackle the upper caste exploitation in the region. The organisation has been working among the Kol tribals for decades in the Chitrakoot-Manikpur area.
The organisation is fighting to bring the NREGS scheme to the region.[3][4] Its main functions are empowering the marginalised, watershed development, and PAHRUAA, an initiative for People’s Policy Advocacy, Human Rights, Unity, Awareness and Action.[5]
