Al Qaswa (Arabic: ٱلْقَصْوَاء) is the name of the female camel that Muhammad, the Islamic Prophet is said to have owned. There are a number of Hadith mentioning the camel, including
- taking Muhammad on the Hegira
- suggesting that the camel chose the location of Muhammad’s house, now the Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.
- being present at the Battle of Badr
- taking Muhammad on The first pilgrimage
- taking Muhammad into Mecca following the Battle of the Trench
It is said that the camel refused to eat or drink once Muhammad died, and itself passed away five days later, aged 15.
