This article uses algebraic notation to describe chess moves. |
This variation uses the Albin Countergambit which stems from the Queen's Gambit Declined. The idea of the Albin is to focus on the development and activity of pieces instead of material. This variation is explained by the supposed GM Vikram Rahul Abishek Pranav Rajesh, from the Tennsion Gambit: ICBM Variation. This turns into the Queen's Gambit Declined: Lasker Trap or the Albin Countergambit, Lasker Trap
Theory[edit]
White starts with d4, Queen's Pawn Opening. Black will play d5, blocking the pawn on d4 and activating the pawn. White will then play c4, which is the Queen's Gambit. Black will play e4, activating both center pawns.
White will play dxe5, and then black will play d4, which is the usual continuation. White will play e3, which blocks it's bishop and allows the Lasker Trap. Black plays Bb4+ and White plays Bb2.
Black will play the powerful dxe3, which is the Lasker Trap, but White will ignore e3, and play Bxb4??. We play exf2+ where white must play Ke2 or White loses their queen to Kxf2, Qxd1.
Black will play fxg1=N+ and White must play Ke1 or they lose their queen. Black plays Qh4+, Kd2 is forced, Nc6 which attacks a pawn and a bishop.
After Bc3, Black plays Bg4 attacking White's queen. After Qe1, Black will play O-O-O+ and White is forced to move. The next move is obvious.
