Early life and career
Gorgees was born on August 11, 1995 in Sydney, Australia. He is Assyrian.[5] Gorgees has competed in several different fighting promotions in Australia since 2015. He is known for his aggressive stand up and often provokes his opponents during fights.[6] He has slapped opponents during fights and coined the term, "Sydney slap" for it.[7] He was signed to the UFC in 2018[8]
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Gorgees made his first appearance in the UFC on short notice against Damir Ismagulov and lost the fight via unanimous decision.[9]
Gorgees was scheduled to fight Jalin Turner at UFC 234 but pulled out of the fight for undisclosed reasons.[10]
