Damir Ismagulov (Russian: Дамир Исмагулов; born February 3, 1991) is a Russian mixed martial artist of Kazakh heritage, who is currently fighting in the Lightweight division for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Former M-1 Global champion.

Background[edit | edit source]

Ismagulov was born February 3, 1991 in Orenburg, in the Sunni Muslim family of Kazakh descent. He started train boxing and hand-to-hand combat in primary school.

Mixed martial arts career[edit | edit source]

M-1 Global[edit | edit source]

Ismagulov was M-1 global lightweight champion after beating Maxim Divnich in the title bout. After 3 Defended M-1 Lightweight Championship he signed a contract with the UFC.[2]

Ultimate Fighting Championship[edit | edit source]

Ismagulov made his debut in the UFC on December 2, 2018 at UFC Fight Night 142 against Alex Gorgees of Australia.[3] He won the fight via unanimous decision.[4]
