Alexander Ozerov (born in Ukraine) is an award-winning jewelry designer. He specializes in moderately priced, traditional jewelry while using modern equipment and technology to manufacture it.
Early life[edit]
In her early life, Alexander studied business management at college but ultimately became interested in a jewelry industry. After finishing his bachelor's degree in Ukraine, he pursued his education at the Gemological Institute of America, Carlsbad, California where he studied gemology and diamond grading.
He stated “When I was doing my laboratory practice at the Gemological Institute of America, I discovered I was good at it. I liked to work with a microscope in a controlled environment. I learned how to identify colored stones and grade diamonds but I haven't received any real-life experience with gemstones. That's why after the graduation, I went to Sri Lanka. I lived there for several months. My goal was to learn more about gemstone mining. After that, I went to Bangkok and learned about gemstone cutting and a variety of the gemstone treatments. I realized that a jewelry industry is a vast subject and I need to continue my education. I went to Canton Fair, Guangzhou to learn about modern ways of jewelry manufacturing. After that, I realized that modern manufacturing technology is years ahead in some countries and you don't have to make jewelry by hands anymore. That was my eureka moment".
Alexander applied for a jewelry design and manufacturing course at the GIA London. After successful completion of the course, he starts creating jewelry using computer-aided design and 3d printing. Shortly after that, Alexander won his first major international award - 2017 GIA London Jewellery Design Award.
