Alexander Sergeevich Klishin (Russian: Александр Сергеевич Клишин; 27 May 1991, Zaozerny, Tselinograd Oblast, Kazakh SSR, Soviet Union) is a Russian economist,[1][2] financier,[3] and local politician.[4]
As a philanthropist he founded a charitable foundation known as "The Trajectory of Hope".[5][6]
As of 2020, he is the Deputy Director for Economics and Finance at Uralsibgidrostroy JSC.
Biography[edit]
Alexander Klishin was born in Zaozerny, Tselinograd Oblast, Soviet Union. to Sergey Anatolyevich Klishin and Lyudmila Klishina. His father was born in Makiivka, Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, and his mother was born in Shantobe, Kazakh SSR. At the age of 7, he moved to Surgut together with his family, where he finished school. During holidays off from school, he planted trees and raked leaves for a Soviet youth program in Surgut. Additionally he worked as a camp counselor in a school camp and participated in extracurricular activities at school.
As of 2020, his father works as Deputy Director for Economics of the TPU of Surgutneftegaz PJSC, an oil and gas company, and his mother is a physical education teacher at Secondary School № 20 in Surgut.

In 2007, Alexander Klishin enrolled in the St. Petersburg Industrial and Economic College[lower-alpha 1] where he majored in banking.
In 2009, he entered the Russian New University in Moscow. In 2013, he graduated from the university with a major in economics.
He studied at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in Moscow, graduating with honors in 2018 with an MBA.
Career[edit]
Although Alexander Klishin was educated in St. Petersburg, he realized he was better off in the smaller community of Surgut where he grew up. Because of this he returned home and spent his career in Surgut instead.[7] In July 2009 he started his career as an economist at Kreditnyi Agroprombank LLC in Surgut. From 2010—2012, he worked at VTB Bank, and from 2012—2013, he held senior positions in the Sberbank of Russia, the Lukoil-Garant non-state pension fund, and also with Caritek Surgut. In 2015, he took the position of the Executive Director at Uralsibcontract LLC, and in 2016, he joined the board of Uralsibgidrostroy JSC. Additionally he served as the Chairman of the Khanty-Mansi Branch of the Russian Union of Taxpayers.[lower-alpha 2]
In 2019, Klishin continued to live an active public and professional life, heading The Trajectory of Hope[lower-alpha 3] charitable foundation, an NGO which funds charitable activities in Surgut.[8] The foundation has an open-ended mission and supports programs and activities for children, stray animals, the arts, and the environment.[4] Klishin has urged young people thinking about leaving Surgut for opportunities in American cities to stay put; saying that moving to America is "not cool."[7]
In 2019 he entered politics and became a member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Surgut District.[4] He was voted in as council secretary.[9] In 2020 he was a contestant in the Leaders of Russia: Politics competition,[lower-alpha 4] created on behalf of President Vladimir Putin.[10] He finished as a Urals Federal District semi-finalist.
Currently, Klishin serves as pundit for Russian-language media outlets looking for expertise in the field of economics and finance.[11][12][13][14][15][16] Since 2014, he has been the Deputy Director for Economics and Finance at Uralsibgidrostroy JSC.
