Alexandre Arnault (born May 5, 1992[1][2]) is a French businessman and fashion executive. Arnault currently serves as the Executive Vice President of the American jewelry company Tiffany & Co.[3] and is also a director of the Carrefour Group. He was previously the general manager of luxury luggage brand Rimowa. He is a son of Bernard Arnault, owner of the LVMH group.[4]
Early life and education[edit]
Arnault was born May 5, 1992 to Bernard Arnault and his second wife Canadian-born pianist Hélène Mercier Arnault, originally from Québec,[5] in Neuilly-sur-Seine. Bernard Arnault is the founder and owner of what today is known as LVMH, a French luxury goods concern, and the wealthiest person in the world (2023).[6] He has two younger brothers, Frédéric and Jean, and two half-siblings, Delphine and Antoine.[7]
He attended Lycée Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague in Paris.[8] Later he graduated high school at Lycée Louis-le-Grand. He studied Information Technology at Télécom Paris graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 2015. He also completed a Master of Science in Innovation from École polytechnique.[9][10]
Career[edit]
Arnault completed internships at McKinsey & Company and KKR in New York City before becoming an investment manager for the family concern LVMH. In 2016, LVMH acquired 80% of the German luggage manufacturer Rimowa.[11] Arnault was ultimately appointed Co-CEO alongside with now minority owner Dieter Morszeck.[12][13] In April 2019, he replaced his father on the board of directors of Carrefour.[14]
In January 2021, he left Rimowa and became the new executive vice president of product and communications for jeweler Tiffany & Co., just acquired by LVMH.[15] He allegedly engaged in insider trading in a 2022 NFT acquisition procedure.[16][17]
Personal life[edit]
In 2021, Arnault married his long-term partner Géraldine Guyot (b. 1992), in Venice, Italy.[18][19] Their wedding was attended by celebrities around the world such as Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Roger Federer and David Guetta.[20] Kanye West, a friend of Arnault's, performed at the ceremony.[21][22] Guyot is a daughter of Didier Guyot (b. 1946), who is a business executive and mayor of Bois-le-Roi.[23][24] Her brother Charles Guyot is married to Charlotte Bouygues, daughter of Martin Bouygues.[25][8]
Arnault resides in New York City.[26][27]
