Alexey Valeryevich Pavlov (born 27 February 1982 in Omsk) is a Russian blogger and restaurateur.[1]
Biography
Alexey graduated from Omsk State Technical University. He was the owner of Absolute Global Service, a chain of digital tech shops.[2] The idea of opening a Japanese cuisine restaurant came to him after trying sushi for the first time. He received support from a colleague whose wife was a sushi pub chef.[1]
His first Japanese restaurant opened in Tyumen in 2013 as a Absolute Global Service branch; the initial plan was to open a restaurant in Surgut.[1] To achieve his goal, Alexey borrowed money, despite lacking an economics degree.[3] Several months later, he opened a second restaurant,[1] and by the end of 2013, the chain had grown to 40 restaurants.[3] The Japanese restaurant chain, Sushi Master, was officially registered in 2016.[2] In 2017, Alexey repaid a 1.2 million ruble loan taken for business development.
Sushi Master now operates in 10 countries, 9 cities, with 172 trade and partner branches. The company's annual turnover is 2.5 billion rubles. Currently, Alexey is responsible for opening and launching new restaurants, managing processes, and selecting staff. Alex Yanovsky, Pavlov's colleague, a businessman and motivational speaker currently residing in San Diego, is also responsible for operating and scaling the business.[1][4] Absolute Global Service was finally liquidated in 2018.[2]
Pavlov participated in the international forums SUP-2015 and SUP-2018.[5] He was a contestant in the Russian third season of The Secret Millionaire reality show, which aired on Pyatnitsa TV channel in 2018. The episode featuring Pavlov took place in Murmansk,[3] and at the end of the episode, Alexey gave presents to Murmansk residents, including a three-room apartment for one of the families.[6][7]
Personal life
Alexey married on 5 November 2018.[3] Despite his restaurant business, he has limited culinary skills.[1] His hobbies include traveling. During a trip to Ethiopia, he connected with motivational speaker Dmitry Portnyagin.[1][8]
