Alfred Johannes Burgesson PMYC; (English: [ˈælfˌræːd]) born November 14, 1996 is a Canadian youth activist and a member of the Prime Minister's Youth Council.[1].
Burgesson was born in Accra, Ghana. He attended Christ The King International School[2], before moving to Nova Scotia at a young age. He attended and graduated from the Halifax Grammar School in 2015. During his days at the Grammar School, he was a varsity athlete and a member of Junior Achievement.
Burgesson has experience working with several national and pan-provincial entities as a coordinator and advisor; including Assembly of First Nations, NBA Canada, Develop Nova Scotia, Engage Nova Scotia and the Quality of Life Initiative, Boys and Girls Clubs of Halifax, YouthfulCities Canada[3]
Today, through various initiatives he is focused on building community, empowering underrepresented youth in Nova Scotia to participate in the labour force and while developing their leadership capacity.
