Ali Quli Mirza is an Indian based actor and singer. Best known for his role as Shekhu in Mirzapur, his other works include his song Ishqam featuring Mika Singh. He has also appeared as a contestant on the Indian reality television show Bigg Boss 8, and was later a contestant on Bigg Boss Halla Bol! on Colors.[1]
Career[edit]
His first music album in Persian was titled Ishquamaan. Recorded in Dubai and India, the album consisted of six tracks and was launched by Times Music in 2009.[citation needed] This second album was titled Bewafa.[1] Mirza has composed most of the songs in his music albums. Mirza has also performed with Bollywood celebrities such as Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Ranbir Kapoor, John Abraham, Sohail Khan.[2]
In 2009, Mirza landed small roles in the films Jail and New York. In 2014, he made his Bollywood debut in Roar: Tiger Of The Sundarbans, directed by Kamal Sadanah.[3] In November 2015, Salman Khan declared on the reality show Bigg Boss that Mirza has been signed to be a part of Kabir Khan's upcoming film Bajrangi Bhaijaan but was later replaced by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.[citation needed]
Mirza also sang the song "Bore Bore Hum" in the movie Bluffmaster!, but it was uncredited due to some technical difficulties.[citation needed]
In 2015, Mirza sang the song "Yeh Ishq" in the adult comedy Kuch Kuch Locha Hai starring Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber.[4]
