Aliza Kelly (born August 18, 1989) is an American author, astrologer, podcaster and television personality. She is the author of three books, including This Is Your Destiny: Using Astrology to Manifest Your Best Life (upcoming September 21, 2021) through Macmillan.

Early life and education[edit]

Kelly was born and raised in New York City, New York. She earned a joint Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art and Art History from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.[1] Kelly moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in contemporary art in 2013.[2]

Career[edit]

While living in Los Angeles, Kelly co-founded Align, an astrology dating app, in 2014. By 2015, Align was available in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.[3] Align closed in 2016.[2]

Following Align’s closure, Kelly returned to New York in September 2016. She continued studying and practicing astrology, and became the “resident astrologer” at Allure Magazine in July 2017.[citation needed] Kelly’s practice continued to grow, and through working with private clients and hosting astrology workshops at venues like the Soho House, she became a full-time astrologer by the end of 2017.[4]

Aliza became the “resident astrologer” of Cosmopolitan Magazine in 2018, where she writes monthly horoscopes, advice columns, and hosts the YouTube series “Star Charts,” which featured celebrities such as Lana Condor, Yara Shahidi, Sophia Lillis, and Spencer and Heidi Pratt.[4][5][6][7] In addition, Kelly’s work has been featured in The New York Times,[8] The Cut,[9] and Today.[10]

Books[edit]

Kelly’s first book, The Mixology of Astrology: Cosmic Cocktail Recipes for Every Sign, was released by Simon and Schuster on August 7, 2018. It received praise from publications such as Los Angeles Magazine[11] and Bustle,[12] along with celebrities such as Drew Barrymore.[13] Her second book, written for young readers, Starring You: A Guided Journal Through Astrology was released by June 11, 2019 by Buzzpop.[14]

Kelly’s third book, This Is Your Destiny: Using Astrology To Manifest Your Best Life will be released on September 21, 2021 by Macmillan.[15]

Television[edit]

In 2020, Kelly teamed up with Will Arnett and ATTN to create “Your Daily Horoscope” animated series on Quibi,[16] which was ranked as one of the top performing shows on the platform until Quibi’s closure.[17]

Kelly is a recurring guest on The Drew Barrymore Show.[18]

Other work[edit]

Kelly’s podcast, Stars Like Us, launched March 2019. It has been ranked as one of the best astrology podcasts by Newsweek,[19] Bustle,[20] Mashable,[21] and Harper’s Bazaar [22]

In September 2019, Kelly founded the Constellation Club, a virtual community.[23]
