Allamurad Karayev (born September 21, 1991) is a mixed martial artist from Turkmenistan. His results and ranking make him the most successful fighter currently in Malaysia and as of April 2012 he is ranked as the number 44 flyweight in the world by the Fight Matrix website.[2]

He began training in Karate in Turkmenistan when he was 10 years old and began training in Judo and Sambo a few years later. When he moved to Malaysia at the age of 16 he started to train in Muay Thai and then MMA.[3]

MMA career[edit]

Karayev decided to enter Mayhem 2 in September 2011 which was organized as the promotion now known as Malaysia Fighting Championship. He won two fights out of two, defeating Mohd Nazrin and Anis Syakir Abu Bakar. A month later he beat Derick Ee at Malaysia Fighting Championship 2 by TKO after a doctor stoppage and in November 2011 he once again fought two opponents in a single night, defeating Mohd Fouzien Mohd Fozi and Mohd Afham, both by TKO, at Malaysian Fighting Championship 2.[4]

In December 2011 he fought against Mohd Afham at Malaysian Fighting Championship 2 and won by TKO, finishing the fight with a series of puinches.[5]

In February 2012 he entered the 'MMA Super 4 Bantamweight tournament' at F3 Combat Championships in Malaysia. He defeated Alvin Chong by rear naked choke in the second round of the semi final and defeated Zhee Xian Lim by KO (punches) in the final. He suffered a broken hand during this fight which ruled him out of DARE Championship 2/12 in Thailand where he had been scheduled to fight Bruce Loh the following month.[6]

In April 2012 he made his comeback from injury against Umutbek Malikov at Gods FC in Kuala Lumpur and won after 12 seconds after landing a low kick followed by a left hook which left his opponent unable to continue.[7]
