Amelies French Bakery, LLC., doing business as Amélie's or Amélie’s French Bakery & Café, is an Charlotte-based bakery chain that specializes in pastries, cakes, and coffee that primarily serves the Charlotte metropolitan area. Amelie's was founded in 2008, after Greg Hardee, Bill Lamb, and Lynn St. Laurent, former employees of a previous French bakery in Charlotte called Marguerite’s, bound together to open it following Marguerite’s closure.[1] Amelie's is known for its unique, vintage, mismatched design of its locations, many Mona Lisas hanging around each store,[2] as well as its many pastries. Amelie's has 5 locations, 4 in Charlotte, and one in Rock Hill,[3] with its first opened in Charlotte's NoDa arts district.
Menu[edit]
Amelie's serves many kinds of cold and warm pastries, mostly of an American, or French origin, with seasonal pastries that change out for each of the 4 seasons. Also served are sandwiches, tartines which are an open-faced baguette with ingredients on top, soups, and salads. In terms of drink, Amelie's serves hot and cold espresso and brewed coffee, tea, lemonades, and craft sodas.[4]
