Summary of the story

Here you can see a family going for a walk. Their train stopped at 'Sohagi' junction. The characters get off the train and scatter in different directions, thus the story begins. The family members are an IG of Police, his wife, two daughters Nishat and Dilshad. They are accompanied by a distant relation Jamil, IG's constant companion OC Kamrul, a servant and a woman to look after Nishat's daughter. The new partner is a photographer named Sabbir, who has recently arrived in the country and wants to arrange his marriage with Nishat's mother. Nishat is mostly quiet since her husband died and even her mother is a bit afraid of her. Although she has known and loved Jamil since her childhood, the fact that she loves Jamil is unclear to herself. But Jamil has come to love her to date. Meanwhile, the younger sister Dilu, who is very fickle and therefore often has to eat with her mother and sister, is deeply in love with Jamil. Jamil, less educated (honours third class), says he is almost ignored by Nishat's parents, although he takes care of the family's well-being. On the other hand Sabbir soon wins everyone's heart, even Jamil's. Sabbir likes Nishat, but Nishat doesn't care much for him; and Jamil started to accumulate anger inside. Here Nishat's character's mental tension is a mystery, she herself does not understand her conflict well, others also almost misunderstand her. Dilu, on the other hand, is young and reacts impulsively to many things due to emotions. Their emotional conflict eventually turns into a different kind of tragedy.
