Amber McDonald is an American actress from Key West, Florida. McDonald graduated from Boston University's School of Theatre with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree after also studying at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Career
McDonald began her career in independent films such as You Tell Me, and then portrayed roles in the DC Comics universe as Aquaman's boss and girlfriend Eva in the Smallville spinoff series pilot Aquaman, and as a Gaia-influenced villain, Gloria, in the Smallville episode "Wither".[1] McDonald also appeared in Conviction and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.[2][3] In 2009, McDonald portrayed Thunderstorm in the sequel to Without a Paddle, Without a Paddle: Nature's Calling,[4] directed by New Zealand filmmaker Ellory Elkayem, and costarring Madison Riley, Kristopher Turner, Jerry Rice, and Oliver James.
In 2014, McDonald performed in the 2012 Tony and 2011 Pulitzer Prize winning play Clybourne Park at the Red Barn Theatre in Key West, and in 2015 performed at the Red Barn Theatre in Outside Mullingar, one of the finalists for a 2014 Tony Award. McDonald has continued to star in various productions at the Red Barn in recent years, including most notably Short Attention Span Theatre in the 2019 Winter Season.
