American Polarity Therapy Association was formed in 1989 and is a registered organisation for conducting training in Polar Theraphy and certifying a person as polar theraphist. American Polarity Therapy Association and its sister concerns across the world has the right to grant certification as polarity practitioner. The association designs Standards for Practice, Code of Ethics, and Standards for education to be followed by polarity practitioner.

American Polarity Therapy Association issues certification to member as polar theraphist after completion of 800 hours of mandatory training[4][5].
