The company deals with cases such as facilitating legal identity changes, second citizenships, anonymous traveling and living, extradition for clients and international prisoner treaty transfers.[3][4][5][6][7][8]
On February 23, 2017, a report published by journalist Ian Young in the South China Morning Post alleged that in 2011, Amicus assisted two Chinese fraudsters who were involved in a US$485 million theft from the Bank of China. The firm helped the wives of the fraudsters in obtaining Spanish citizenship while they were imprisoned in the United States.[9][10][11] In May 2017, the story was further covered when Young was interviewed on the Jon McComb show on CKNW about Amicus.[12]
Amicus was also featured in the podcast series CBC Island Crime Podcast, Season 2 Episode 2, "The Talking Boards" (February 2021).[13] In September 2023, Amicus representatives were interviewed on the Dave Nemo show on Sirius XM about the "Rise of Synthetic Identity Theft".[14]
