Anchal Vohra is an Indian journalist and TV correspondent.[1] She is also a fellow of the Observer Research Foundation.[2]
Career[edit]
Vohra is a columnist for Foreign Policy.[3] She reports from Lebanon for Voice of America. Vohra was a TV correspondent for Al Jazeera based out of Beirut. She was a former correspondent and presenter with NDTV in India.[4] She has contributed to The Atlantic,[5] The Times[6] of London and Newslaundry.[7] She was a Deutsche Welle correspondent and the foreign affairs editor and TV presenter for CNN–IBN.
She reported on Cyclone Phailin in Odisha from the ground.[8] In 2016, she interviewed the Dalai Lama.[9]
Awards[edit]
Anchal Vohra, while working in NDTV 24x7, won the 'CNN Young Journalist of the Year 2007' award in the television category for her story on 'Abuse in Ghaziabad Ashram'.[10][11]
Personal life[edit]
Anchal Vohra survived the 2020 Beirut explosion, though she was injured and her house damaged.[12]
She is married to a German filmmaker and investigative journalist.
