She is also the former executive producer of EVE Online, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game.

Early life and education[edit]

Andie Nordgren was born and raised in Sweden. She studied computer science and media technology at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. She also studied game design and interactive storytelling at the IT University of Copenhagen. She started her career as a freelance game developer and writer, working on projects such as The Dark Eye: Drakensang, The Chronicles of Spellborn, and Runes of Magic.

Career[edit]

In 2008, Nordgren co-founded Geek Girl Meetup, a network for and by women and girls who are passionate about technology, design, and startups. The network aims to create a platform for female role models in the industry, as well as a space for knowledge exchange, mentoring, and fun. Geek Girl Meetup organizes monthly breakfast meetups and an annual conference, where participants can share their experiences and learn from each other. The network has since expanded to 17 countries, including Denmark, Mexico, Honduras, Hong Kong, Singapore, and San Francisco.

In 2010, Nordgren joined CCP Games, the developer of EVE Online, as a senior producer. She worked on various aspects of the game, such as the Incarna expansion, the Dust 514 integration, and the Valkyrie project. In 2014, she became the executive producer of EVE Online, overseeing the development and direction of the game. She was responsible for implementing the vision of EVE Online as a living, breathing sci-fi universe, where players can shape their own destiny. She also led the transition of EVE Online to a free-to-play model in 2016, which increased the game's player base and revenue. She left CCP Games in 2018, after eight years of service, to return to Sweden and focus on her family.

Nordgren is also a coiner of the term "relationship anarchy", which describes a philosophy and practice of non-hierarchical, consensual, and individualistic relationships. She wrote a manifesto on relationship anarchy in 2006, which has been translated into several languages and widely circulated online. She has also spoken and written about topics such as feminism, sexuality, and polyamory.
