Andrew Flesher is a New York-based interior designer. He has offices in New York and Minneapolis, working on full-service, custom residential, commercial and hospitality projects worldwide.[1]
Early life and Background[edit]
Flesher began his career studying interior design and architecture at the University of Minnesota. After four years, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in interior design with an area of concentration in architecture.
Career[edit]
Andrew worked as an intern for the residential interior designer, David Nyhus, while in school until 1997. He started his own firm afterward with another residential interior designer named Judy Murphy and named it “Flesher and Murphy, Inc”. They had ran their office in International Market Square in Minneapolis.
Andrew joined Gunkelmans Interior Design firm in 1999, and worked with the veteran designer, Thomas Gunkelman, for a total of twelve years in the Young Quinlan Building in Minneapolis. In 2006, the name of the firm was changed from Gunkelmans Interior Design to Gunkelman Flesher Interior Design.
In 2008, he opened his own office Andrew Flesher Interiors in New York but still continued to take on occasional projects in Minneapolis. In 2009, he designed a room in the Kips Bay Designer Showhouse.[2]
Andrew has been featured in publicatiosns such as American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), House & Garden (magazine), House Beautiful, and Interior Design (magazine).[3] He has given speeches for the University of Minnesota, Neocon in Chicago, IL, and for House Beautiful, in Detroit,MI. He was previously featured on HGTV's program American Dream Builders.[4]
Andrew currently works on following projects: a mansion renovation in Minneapolis, MN, a riverfront loft, a residential design in Kenwood, Minneapolis, a condominium on Lake Calhoun, Minneapolis, a house in Edgewater, NJ, a house in Westchester County, and a winery in Napa, California.
