Andrey Dobrov is a Russian billionaire, private investor and Forbes Top-200 businessman.[2][3] Dobrov is an ex-CEO and main beneficiary of the Russian coal miner and steel trader «Belon» Group.[4] In 2006, he was the first in the Russian coal industry to bring the company to an IPO.[5]

Career milestones[edit]

Dobrov started his business career with a network of video salons in Novosibirsk.[6][7]

Belon Group was founded in 1991. In 1998 he acquired the Belovskaya processing plant. In the early 2000s, coal mines were added to it. In 2002 Dobrov became a president of the Belon Group.

In 2006, he brought the Belon group to an IPO.[8][9]

In August 2007, Belon completed the construction of the Listvyazhnaya concentrator. The factory at that time was the only one in Russia where steam coal of grades "G" and "D" was processed in an industrial volume.[10]

In 2008-2009, he sold 82.6% of the coal company Belon OJSC to the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works for more than $500 million. In March 2009, he bought out more than 97% of shares of CB Belon LLC, and took over as chairman of the board of directors of CB Belon LLC. In 2010, he terminated his powers as General Director of OJSC Belon.

Since 2010, he has been engaged in the development of the bank, OOO KB "Vzaimodeistvie".[11]

In 2011 Dobrov was ranked 162nd in the rating of the Russian Forbes "The richest businessmen of Russia - 2011" with a fortune of $550M.[2]

In 2020, he took 182 place in the same rating with a fortune of $550M.[3]
