Andrew "Andy" James Baddeley (born 20 June 1982) is a British former middle-distance runner, and the co-founder and CEO of the media company The Running Channel. He is best known for his career as an athlete, which included two Olympic Games appearances, and his current role as a presenter and host for The Running Channel.

Athletics Career

Baddeley began his competitive running career in the mid-2000s, specializing in the 1500 metres. He earned a first-class honours degree in Engineering from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, before dedicating himself to professional athletics.

He became a prominent figure in British athletics, known for his performances in major international championships. His achievements include:

  • Olympic Games: He competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London in the 1500m. He reached the final in 2008, finishing in 9th place.
  • World & European Championships: He reached the finals of the 1500m at both the 2007 and 2009 World Championships. He also placed sixth in the 1500m final at the 2006 European Athletics Championships.
  • Parkrun World Record: In 2012, Baddeley set the world record for the fastest parkrun, completing the 5km course at Bushy Park in 13 minutes and 48 seconds. The record stood for nearly 11 years.
  • Fifth Avenue Mile: He won the prestigious Fifth Avenue Mile race in New York in 2009.

Baddeley retired from professional athletics after the 2012 season.
