Rick Kelsey is a British journalist, presenter, and podcaster, best known for his work with the BBC and Times Radio, as well as his role as a host for the YouTube channel and media company The Running Channel.
Career
Kelsey began his media career in 2006.[1] He has worked extensively as a broadcaster for major outlets, including over 12 years with the BBC on programmes for BBC Radio 1, the World Service, and Newsbeat.[2] He has also hosted shows for Times Radio and talkSPORT, and presented a BBC documentary series titled Addicted to….[3]
The Running Channel
Kelsey is a key host for The Running Channel, where he presents videos and is a regular co-host of The Running Channel Podcast alongside Sarah Hartley and Andy Baddeley.[4] He is frequently referred to as the "recovering runner" on the podcast, as he has navigated his own running journey while recovering from injury.[5]
Running
Kelsey is a recreational runner who has documented his own running journey on The Running Channel. In 2024, he debriefed an attempt to beat his 5K personal best (PB) of 23:19, a time he set in 2019.[6] His running journey, which has included overcoming injuries, is a recurring topic in his content, making him a relatable figure for other runners facing similar challenges.
