Angélica Chahín Martínez (born 24 May 1956) better known by her stage name Angélica Chaín is a retired Mexican actress and vedette.

Early life[edit]

Angelica Chain is of Lebanese origin.[1] Her surname Chain is a Arabic word which usually refers to the Arab people, mostly Palestinians who settled in Mexico in the beginning of the 20th century.[2]

Career[edit]

Angélica Chaín is known for her role as an actress in several productions of the Mexican genre known as ficheras cinema or Mexican sex comedy. She rose to fame during 1970s as dancer, model, actress and vedette. She has been featured in several photo comics during this time. She became famous for her roles as a femme fatale in movies like Girls Office, Red Sunset, the Shadow of Divorce and the Bad Life of a Good Girl.[3]

She was part of various films, mainly comedies and thrillers, made between the mid-1970s and the late 1980s.[4] Due to her charms, she became one of the sex symbol of Mexican cinema.[5]

At the beginning of her career at the age of 17 at the Teatro de la Ciudad as a vedette, she used the stage name "Liz Chahín".[6]

Personal life[edit]

She married businessman Ricardo Martí García and later married the controversial Mexican billionaire Enrique Molina Sobrino. On 27 October 1994, she created the Private Assistance Institution "Fundación Angie". She currently lives in the United States.[7]
