Career[edit]
Angelica Colucci has been head of design for Ozwald Boateng since October 2016. She studied fashion at Ryerson University in Toronto and NABA in Milan. She began her career at Garrison Bespoke, where she was soon involved in designing clothing for a variety of notable figures and institutions, some of which include the Raptors basketball team and Drake. Colucci was also responsible for coordinating and designing Ozwald Boateng's first fashion show, in London, in 12 years - Vogue called it "fashion, music, and art [in] one grand spectacle".[2] In an interview with GQ she noted that the brand wanted to reflect modern times, and that the London show's cuts would be more relaxed than previous collections.[3]
TV and film[edit]
Colucci has done notable work in TV and cinema,[4] during her time at Garrison Bespoke she created wardrobes for Hannibal, Suits and The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe.[5] At Ozwald Boateng, she designed garments for Black Panther [6] and The Harder They Fall.[7]
British Airways[edit]
In 2018 British Airways asked Ozwald Boateng to redesign the uniforms for 32,000 of its air and ground staff, in honour of its approaching centenary. Angelica Colucci lead the project, creating a new look for the uniform, while adhering to British Airway's traditional style.[8]
Other work[edit]
When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended the NAACP Awards, the Duke of Sussex turned to Ozwald Boateng for his formalwear. Angelica Colucci worked to design and create Prince Harry's outfit for the event.[9]
