Gurkiran Kaur Sidhu
Gurkiran Kaur Sidhu, also known as Ginu,[1] (born 1990 or 1991) is a Canadian clothing design company co-founder and the wife of politician Jagmeet Singh.
Early life and education[edit]
Sidhu is from Brampton, Ontario.[2] She studied business economics at York University in Toronto.[3]
Career[edit]
Sidhu is a co-founder of Jangiiro clothing company that specialises in new-age Punjabi clothing.[4][3] She also worked on the Burnaby South election campaign for Jagmeet Singh.[2]
Personal life[edit]
Sidhu and Jagmeet Singh had a traditional Rokha (Punjabi pre-marriage) ceremony in 2017.[3] On 16 January 2018, at the Vegetarian Haven restaurant in Toronto,[5] Sidhu agreed to a marriage proposal from Jagmeet Singh.[4] The restaurant was the same location where the couple went on their first date.[5] On February 22, 2018, they both got married in Cancún,[2] Mexico.[5] The couple were expecting their first child in December 2021.[6]
Sidhu was aged 27 in 2018.[4]
In December 2021, Sidhu posted picture of a gifted Monte Design company chair in her Instagram account before discussing the matter with an ethics commissioner and paying for the chair.[7]
