Anime World Network (AWN) is an anime community website. AWN is a portal designed and conceived for newbie and young anime/manga enthusiasts to find a safe and nourishing environment for them to develop their interests and display their passion for everything anime. This haven was thought about after the AIC community declared closure of their website. When the closure was announced, there was a flurry of concern as to where would all the existing members go where they can enjoy talking about their common interests – Anime and Manga. Aftershock (Rorschach) and Cynogen then decided to put in their time and efforts to make a place where people of AIC could call home once again.

AWN, as the name suggests, does not restrict itself to just members of AIC or AAC, though it was started for that purpose. It welcomes anyone and everyone, the youth who are passionate or have a budding passion for everything anime/manga. All the management staff share common history – AIC – which stood for bring anime to the teenagers and youth who were not previously exposed to it. The site aims to carry forth this torch of goodwill to people like them world over.

The site, created from scratch by teenagers themselves, aims to address their anime and manga needs in the most satisfying manner possible. Allowing newbies a great way to enter into the world of anime and manga, learning about them and ‘basking in the path of the otaku’ is the very purpose of AWN. It is believed that passion makes one aspire a greatness generally inconceivable by the society. AWN aims to create a passion for that form of art which, like many, is inspired by life itself.
