Anirudh Vankar (born 25 December 1970) is an Indian Musical Artist, Actor, Theater Play Producer, Lyricist, Poet and Politician. He is also known as Wadal wara. He is famous for Ambedkarite Songs. He belongs to a Buddhist family. He has performed in more than 2000 stage shows across India. He recently joined the Indian National Congress Party.
Early Life and Education
Anirudh Vankar was born on 25 December 1970 in the city of Chandrapur, Maharashtra. He completed his MFA(Drama) and MA Sociology at Nagpur University, and a PG Diploma from Mumbai University. He worked as an Actor in National School Of Drama's Yayavar Repertory Company. Known in Maharashtra as a folk performer of “Ambedkarwadi Jalsa - Mi Wadalvara, Ba Bhima”, he has performed 2000 shows all over Maharashtra and Delhi, Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Bidar(Karnataka), Adilabad (Andhra Pradesh), Surat(Gujarat). He is a regular performer of AIR Nagpur, AIR Chandrapur as a Folk Singer, and performed as a Folk Artist in 100 shows of Mobile Theatre of Samaj Kalyan Sanchalanalaya, Maharashtra State, Pune. He has performed in folk Kalapathak and street plays to raise awareness on issues like Darubandi, Tribal Health, Education, Environment, Women and Child Development.
Work as Trainer
- For South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur, he completed a project as Guru for Zadipatti Folk Songs in 2010.
- He served as a Creative Resource person (Expert)- Drama for Umang Mohotsav 2010 organized by South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur.
- He was a Creative Resource person (Expert) at S R M College of Social Work, Chandrapur.
- He was a Creative Resource person (Expert) for Samtadut Training Programme of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI), Pune.
