Anita Stanhope, Countess of Harrington (née Fuglesang; previously Howard; born 1950) is a British peeress. She is the second wife of Charles Stanhope, 12th Earl of Harrington, and was previously the second wife of Michael Howard, 21st Earl of Suffolk.[1]
Personal life[edit]
Lady Harrington was born in 1950 in Surrey, England to Robin Robsahm (1918–1991) and Wendy Ethel Stockbridge (née Whitehead; 1925–2014) Fuglesang. Her paternal grandparents, Fredrik Lønseth Fuglesang (1877–1966) and Sigrid Dorthea Robsahm (1881–1967) emigrated to the United Kingdom from Oslo (then called Kristiania), Norway.[2]
Lady Harrington is a photographer.
Marriages and children[edit]
On 22 September 1973, Lady Harrington married for the first time to Michael Howard, 21st Earl of Suffolk. Upon their marriage, she became the Countess of Suffolk.[3] The Earl and Countess of Suffolk were divorced in 1980. They had two children together:
- Alexander Charles Michael Winston Robsahm Howard, Viscount Andover (born 17 September 1974); married to Victoria Hamilton from 2011 until 2018
- The Honourable Eloise Victoria Rose Mimi Howard (born 1 May 2013)
- The Honourable Arthur Charles Alexander Howard (born 17 July 2014)
- Lady Katharine Emma Frances Robsahm Howard (born 9 April 1976) married to William Rogers
- Lara Rose Rogers (born 2010)
- Jake Mickey Rogers (born 2014)
She remarried in 1984 to Charles Stanhope, then Viscount Petersham. They do not have children together. Through her second marriage, Lady Harrington is stepmother to Charles' two children, William and Serena. Serena is Countess of Snowdon as the wife of David Armstrong-Jones, 2nd Earl of Snowdon (son of Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon and nephew of the Queen).
