Anna Latkovskaia
Anna Latkovskaia (born November 16, 1962) is an attorney, an author of numerous articles on legal topics, and a philanthropist in the Russian speaking community of Brooklyn, New York.
Early life[edit]
She was born on November 16, 1962, in Riga, Latvia. She learned how to read at the age of five. At the same age she also started learning English with a private tutor hired for her by her grandmother, Anna Neiman. She graduated from Latvian State University in Riga after graduation from high school. She majored in English language and literature and her second language was French. She graduated from the Latvian State University, English Language and Literature Faculty in 1984.
Career[edit]
After graduation, Latkovskaia taught English using the "special express" method of teaching foreign languages for adults, created by Professor Shekhtor. In 1992 she emigrated to the United States of America, and decided to pursue a career in law. Upon graduation from The New York Paralegal School in 1994, she started working at the law firm of Connors and Sullivan P.C., in Brooklyn, New York. Shortly after Latkovskaia decided to continue her legal education. She studied law at Brooklyn Law School. In 2002 she was admitted to the New York State Bar Association.[1][2] As an attorney she specializes in elder law, wills, trusts, Medicaid and estate planning, asset protection, probate and administration of estates.[3] After working for 14 years at the law firm of Connors and Sullivan, PC she decided to start her own law practice and in 2008 opened her own law firm.

For a few years she was a regular participant in the TV program “Ask The Lawyer”,[4] a viewer call-in New York cable television Show, the production of the Prayer Channel. She often appears on the local TV show Mesto Vstrechi, at RTVI hosted by Marina Levinson.[5] She has been a guest speaker at New York City hospitals, health care facilities, social networking events and seminars.[6] Primarily she speaks on the issues of elder law and problems that are related to the elderly, blind and disabled. She focuses her lectures on the importance of estate and Medicaid planning, elder law, probate, administration of estates and asset protection issues.[7]
Latkovskaia is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).[8] She is a recipient of numerous recognition awards from the New York State Assembly, New York City Council, Office of the President of Borough of Brooklyn City of New York and other public organizations for her service in the community, for participation in voluntary efforts in education of the elderly population, for her philanthropy and for personal achievements.[9][10][11]
Latkovskaia is the author of several publications on estate Planning, elder law, wills, Power of Attorney, health care proxies, living trusts, asset protection, home care and nursing home Medicaid.[12][13][14]
