Anna Papafragou

Anna Papafragou is a professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania. She specializes in experimental semantics and pragmatics, language acquisition, and language cognition.

Education

Anna received her PhD from University College London (UCL) in 1998.[1] She received her BA from the University of Athens in Greece.

Career

After graduating from UCL, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of California Berkeley and at the Institute for Research in Cognitive Science at UPenn, where she collaborated with Lila Gleitman. Before joining the faculty at UPenn, she was a professor at the University of Delaware in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences and the Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science.[2]

Anna is a very productive member of the linguistics community, having written numerous articles and given many talks over the years. In 2020, she was elected as a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Sciences (APS) due to her contributions in the field.[3]
