Anoop John.[1] is an Indian television producer and program director who works in the Malayalam television industry.[2] He has created many popular Malayalam television shows like Star Magic and Comedy Super Nite which are broadcasted on Flowers TV channel. He has worked for 15 years as a television producer and has been associated with prominent Malayalam television channels[3] like Asianet and Mazhavil Manorama. He is famous for directing popular game shows like Tamaar Padaar and Star Magic which featured prolific television comedy artists like Thankachan, Kollam Sudhi, and Azeez Nedumangadu. The Malayalam television show directed by Anoop, Comedy Super Nite received the Kerala State Television Award for the best television show in the entertainment category in 2015.
Early life[edit]
Anoop John was born in Mannuthy, Thrissur, Kerala. He finished his schooling at Kerala Agricultural University, Chaldean Syrian Higher secondary school and graduated in B.Sc Visual Communication at C.S.I Bishop Appasamy College, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Also completed DSDC and MBA in Marketing Management.[4]
Career[edit]
Anoop started his career in 2007 on Asianet as an associate program director. In 2011, he joined the Mazhavil Manorama and worked as a program producer of ‘Ividingananu Bhai’. Currently, he is working with Flowers TV as an Executive Producer[5] hosting the show Star Magic. He directed Comedy Super Nite in 2015 which won the Kerala State Television Award for the best entertainment show. His directorial work includes Tamaar Padaar, Star Magic, Comedy Super show, Malayalee Veettamma, and Best Family. Anoop John made his signature as a show director through the Malayalam celebrity comedy game show, Tamaar Padaar aired on Flowers TV in 2017. The show anchored by Lakshmi Nakshatra featured television artists and comedians like Lakshmi Menon, Saju Navodaya, Nelson Sooranad, Anumol RS, Noby Marcose, Thankachan, Rini Raj, etc. The show rose to popularity for its banter and funny games performed by the artists. The Tamaar Padaar after completing 520 episodes, later started the second edition as Star Magic in…. with many new contestants and celebrity guests. Anoop’s celebrity game show was a unique format in Malayalam television which became a popular show having a marvellous fan base in Kerala and among the Malayali crowd settled abroad.
