Anthony 'Pylo' White
Anthony Benjamin White (born February 25, 1992) better known by his stage name MC Pylo/ P.Y. is an English rapper and songwriter from Goodmayes, London Borough of Redbridge. Inspired by musical geniuses such as Bob Marley, White began writing rhymes at the early age of 15 'for the love of doing it',[1] which led to the a formal collaboration with Ruthless Records UK at the age of 16. During this period, White released his first mixtape 'Life At 16', which sold over 5,000 copies from street sales as advised by his record label and a few more thousands via record shops. Unfortunately, Ruthless Records UK closed down soon after, releasing all its artists and the young Mr White who has since released two more mixtapes by the names of Making Thoughts Reality and Remembery. In early 2015, White released his first official single Walk By Faith and later teamed up with LDN Noise for an 'explosive remix' which featured at number 8 on the UK Urban Chart, replacing a J Cole song.
Early life[edit]
Anthony White is of Ugandan (maternal) and Welsh (paternal) descent and started off his journey in Birmingham, after which he relocated to Cardiff before moving to his current residence in East London. In his early teens White attended a local youth centre in Llanedeyrn, Cardiff where he began to practise rapping with other budding musicians. In 2008, White entered the 'Battle of the MC's' and won first place which gave him the confidence to pursue music beyond leisure. Within the same year, he moved from Cardiff to London where he studied at Wanstead High School while discovering himself as an artist and collaborating with established English rappers such as Alex Dutty and Zeph Ellis (formerly Dot Rotten).
Musical career[edit]
White's move to London also gave him the chance to meet Ruthless, the CEO of Ruthless Records UK who encouraged him to start selling CDs as part of his street team. White was also working on his first mix-tape Life At 16 during this time, which was completed in 2008. Although it was mixed and mastered by East London producer Chessman, Life At 16 was released the following year under Ruthless Records UK, selling over 5,000 copies alone through White's face to face street sales. With the earnings from his first mixtape, White invested in a home studio which he used to record his second mixtape, Making Thoughts Reality. At the start of 2014, White got back into the studio and began to work on new music which would lead to the release of his third mixtape, Remembery. In 2015, he teamed up with LDN Noise for a remix of his first single, Walk By Faith which was officially released in 2015; the club banger soon climbed up to number 8 on the top 10 UK Urban Chart, which stirred up a lot of label interest according to the Ilford Recorder. Despite this, White remains with Eden Younity, his current management team and wishes to 'keep it independent for now' in an attempt to preserve his sound.
