Anu Eridu is the artistic pseudonym of Tomasz Dral, a Polish guitarist, musician, composer, and music producer, as well as the name of his solo music project.
Tomasz Dral began his musical career in 1994. His work spans heavy metal, thrash metal, speed metal, blackened death metal, and industrial metal. The project's music also incorporates influences from black metal and melodic death metal.
The Anu Eridu project was founded in 2020 in Rzeszów, Poland. Tomasz Dral is responsible for composition, arrangement, instrumental performance, and music production.
The artist's inspirations include classic heavy metal and hard rock bands, particularly the group Europe and guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen.
Between 2021 and 2024, American vocalist Jason Jacobs collaborated with the project, performing vocals on selected studio recordings by Anu Eridu.
Roots and early career (1994–2020)
Tomasz Dral's musical journey began in 1994, at the age of 14, after hearing the song "The Final Countdown" by the Swedish band Europe on the radio. The song made a huge impression on him and served as the spark to start his own musical adventure.
Initially, Tomasz Dral began learning the acoustic guitar. As his passion for music grew, he attended a music school to formally study acoustic guitar. During this period, he also developed a deep interest in classical music. He was particularly fascinated by the works of composers such as Frédéric Chopin and Johann Sebastian Bach. Their compositions influenced his musical sensitivity, sense of melody, and later approach to songwriting.
Over the years, Dral transitioned to the electric guitar. Fascinated by its tone, power, and expressive capabilities, he moved increasingly toward heavier styles of guitar music. This fascination with metal music and its characteristic blend of heavy riffs, melody, and energy led him to begin composing his own metal music.
Among Tomasz Dral's key musical inspirations were the band Europe and the legendary neoclassical metal virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen. Combining his early experience in classical music with his subsequent fascination with the electric guitar and metal music formed a vital foundation for his development as a guitarist, composer, and music producer.
Further artistic evolution and a growing interest in darker, heavier subgenres of metal ultimately led to the creation of the solo project Anu Eridu in 2020.

Musical style and evolution
The project's work is characterized by high dynamics and eclecticism. The core style is most frequently defined as blackened melodic death metal. However, Tomasz Dral successfully combines elements from numerous other subgenres, including:
- Heavy metal
- Thrash metal and speed metal
- Industrial metal
The compositions are predominantly instrumental, centered around advanced, melodic guitar parts, dense riffs, and a powerful rhythm section. Tomasz Dral's themes revolve around human emotions, darkness, chaos, and ancient myths.
Although the project is a one-man band, Tomasz Dral engaged in a studio collaboration between 2021 and 2024 with American vocalist Jason Jacobs, who provided vocals for selected tracks.
Profound productivity and discography (2020–present)
Anu Eridu stands out in the underground scene for its remarkably high productivity. In just a few years of activity, the artist has independently released (as a self-released project) over a dozen full-length albums and extended plays (EPs). Music reviewers from portals such as The Metal Crypt highlight his excellent technical mastery of instruments, high production values, and compositions that "simply rock" while avoiding unnecessary, overly complex soloing.
Among the project's most significant and highly rated works are the album Enuma Elish (2021), the EP Blackout (2022), and the critically acclaimed album Loud and Hell (2026).
