Apollo Clone

Alex Parelius, known as Apollo Clone, is a Chicago native recording artist, actor, music producer, writer and director. He attended the University of Montana school of theater[1] before dropping out during his third year to move to Los Angeles in pursuit of a career in the music/acting industry.

In 2016, Apollo wrote and directed a music video for one of his own tracks titled 'Hey Oh No' and submitted it to the Indie Gathering International Film Festival in Cleveland, OH. The video won first place in the 'Best Rap Video' category. [2]

After many self-produced albums, and attempts to get into the LA music and film scene, Apollo Clone moved back to his home city of Chicago to work with JLP Audio on his first mass marketed/digitally distributed, concept album ‘Think and Grow Rich.’

As he started to grow his online fan base, Apollo was invited to join the Infinite Groove 90.9fm WDCB Chicago weekly interview, where he set the stations record for longest freestyle. When the interview ended, Apollo was introduced to one of the producers of the upcoming 2018 film ‘American Badass: A Michael Madsen Retrospective.' He was cast as a young Michael Madsen, [3]another Chicago native. Filming took place in Chicago, Phoenix and Los Angeles.

Returning back to LA to film in the deserts of Palmdale, Apollo used the opportunity to direct a music video he had written for his first single off of ‘Think and Grow Rich,’ titled ‘HERO.’ The video was filmed in 6K. [4]

Apollo Clone has stated during an interview that he writes and produces all of his music using "nothing but Pro Tools editing software and the 'Air Creative Collection' stock plug ins."

In March of 2018, Apollo Clone partnered with Royal Records, an Indie Hip Hop label out of New Zealand to assist with overseas promotion. He has just relocated from Chicago to Atlanta to be immersed in the 'New Hollywood' hip hop music scene of the South East.

Apollo Clone's newest Album, set for release in the Fall of 2018, is called Pills Kills Genius. Apollo has described it as part of the "new emo-rap genre with live instrumentation and dark synths among other psychedelic instrumentation." He referred to the concept as 'beauty in sadness.' The music video for the first single "Silent Flex" is currently in post-production. Apollo Clone has stated his influences as sad rappers such as Kid Cudi and XXXtentacion and more lyrical rappers including J Cole and Childish Gambino.
