Arcadia Lake, 1978, in Debbie Does Dallas.

Arcadia Lake was a pornographic actress who starred in over 30 films in the late 1970s and early 1980s.[1][2] She worked in live sex shows and porn loops in New York City until in 1976, when she met veteran adult film actor Eric Edwards.[3] He introduced her to feature film directors in the larger porno business, and the two began a relationship both personally as well as professionally. Lake worked almost exclusively with Edwards throughout her career.

Director Carter Stevens said Lake "had the most beautiful, clear porcelain skin" he had ever seen.[1] Lake was small in stature, 5'1, and of Japanese and Portuguese decent.[4] Her wholesome onscreen image earned her the part of Tammy in the 1978 film Debbie Does Dallas, one of the most successful pornographic films of the Golden Age of Porn. She also wrote a column for High Society magazine called "Making It."[4]

Her relationship with Edwards and her adult film career ended in the early 1980s. Her final appearance on screen was in the 1983 mainstream horror film They Prey.

Name and death controversy[edit]

It has long been speculated that Lake took her name from a resort in Oklahoma. However, the Arcadia Lake reservoir was not built until 1984.

There have been rumors of Lake's death for decades, most citing drug overdose. Online websites such as IMDB, Find a Grave, and IAFD have also cited overdose as well as suicide and the possibility of murder. [2]The only source regarding her death has been an interview with Edwards for The Rialto Report.[3]
