Archi's Steam Farm, better known as ArchiSteamFarm (ASF) is an open-source application written in C# with the primary purpose of idling Steam trading cards, which can be used for "crafting" badges, leveling up Steam accounts, trading with other users, or selling through the Steam Community Market for store credit.[1]
ASF works by tricking the service into thinking the user is running a game without having the actual game open, this is also known as idling. A limited number of trading cards can be "dropped" from playing games; it is still unsure what factors are accounted for cards to be "dropped," but it is said to be random. While ASF has many other functions, such as automatically finding a trade match[2], redeeming keys, and sending messages.[1] The features can be further extended by custom plug-ins.[3]
